In your plant, institution, hospital or laboratory, there are, no doubt, specific sectors where you may want to restrict access. Now you can hold control on the sensitive areas !
An integrated access control system consists of: a central unit, specialized software, keyboards or card readers, specific interfaces, electromagnetic lockers.
Each controlled entry is provided with either a keyboard or a card reader. Access shall be permitted exclusively to those taping the correct numeric code on the keyboard or to those having a valid card. There are several types of cards: magnetic cards, proximity cards or optical cards. Proximity cards, although more expensive, have an unlimited life span, as there is no direct physical contact between them and the reader, therefore there is no usage.
Local units may be installed either on both sides of the door or only on one side, according to particular objectives for each case.
If you are dealing with a single door that is to be controlled in one way only, you may want to choose a stand-alone control unit. For instance, Cardax A100 provided by
Romano-Electro.
Access control systems may also be used as attendance(timekeeping) control systems. The identity of accepted users, the authorized access points and the allowed schedules are software configured. By implementing an attendance control system, you impose a work discipline, but you also save money, as you are paying only deserved wages.
The various reports generated by the system's software can offer you more information related to this topic. For instance, CardaxN Report software has the following characteristics:
- Real-time monitoring using the access control system's local network / the intranet.
- Easy to use software through Internet Explorer interface
- Visualization of present/absent persons list (according to the access control settings)
- Visualizing active visitors list
- Possibility of adapting the design on the client's specific requirements
- Generating reports according to various criteria:
- Access permitted within a given period of time to a given door (or any door) for a given person (or of an entire department)
- Access permitted within a given period of time to a given door for the visitors.
- General report of all the events generated within a given period of time.
AP-01 is an affordable attendance control system, provided by
Electra
company. The full system consists of: central unit, computer interface, local input units, local output units, specialized software, optical access cards.
