A close circuit television (CCTV) system helps you save money. You can prevent thefts or you can see how do your employees work. It is a reliable guard, always on duty, even late in the night or on bad weather. And there’s no pay checque for it. Video recordings are nowadays accepted as evidence in law-suits.
The equipments our company install record high-quality images on a hard-disk, within a long period of time. They record only real movements, in order to efficiently use the space on hard-disk. When you want to see the recorded images, you can select only the relevant ones (certain cameras, particular periods of time).
A CCTV system consists of: a digital video-recorder (DVR), video camera(s), lense(s), monitor(s), power source(s), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), optional a CD-writer.
The cameras are of various types: black/white or color, for indoor or outdoor use, for poor lighting conditions, with or without audio option, a.o. For proper operation, the outdoor cameras are protected in heated and ventilated housings.
The cameras are to be mounted either visible, or hidden, for example in a movement detector casing. They can be steady or they can automatically move sideways slowly (pan/tilt cameras). In large spaces, such as factories, halls, a.o., you can also use speed-dome cameras. Such a semi-spherical camera rotates 3600 horizontally, with a programmable speed.
An IP (Internet Protocol) camera integrates in a single unit an IP server and a high-performance camera. This kind of camera allows you to use your computer network, for video surveillance, too. That means important money saving for you.
For a CCTV system to be reliable, it must be able to offer you high-quality images of what you are interested to see, whatever the conditions are.
Using inadequate equipments and/or choosing inappropriate mounting locations, leads on an inefficient CCTV system.
